When an app makes sense

When people will use it repeatedly rather than once. When it needs device features a browser cannot reach reliably. When it must work without a connection. Or when it is for your own staff, replacing paper or a spreadsheet in the field.

When a website is the better answer

When customers interact occasionally, which describes most businesses. Nobody installs an app to check opening hours or make a single booking, and asking them to is a good way to lose the sale.

A well built responsive site reaches everyone immediately, with nothing to download and nothing to approve.

Progressive web apps

Often the middle ground. A website that can be added to a home screen, works offline, and sends notifications, without app store approval or separate builds for each platform.

For a lot of the requests we receive, this is genuinely the right answer, and it is considerably cheaper.

If you do need an app

We design and build it, front end and back end. Interfaces that follow the conventions of each platform rather than fighting them. Server side systems behind it. Testing on real devices. And the submission process, which is more involved than most people expect.

What comes afterwards

An app is a commitment, not a delivery. Operating systems update, requirements change, and a store listing that has not been touched in two years starts to look abandoned. We include ongoing support because an unmaintained app is worse than no app.
