Turning Community Donations into Classroom-Ready Chromebooks
Transforming Old Devices for New Learning
Computers -For- All helps Hertfordshire schools transform unwanted laptops, tablets, and MacBooks into affordable, fully refurbished Chromebooks.
Whether donated by parents, neighbours, local businesses, or extended family, every suitable device is never accessed and fitted with a brand-new 256 GB SSD, and reloaded with the latest Chrome Education OS.
The result? Fast, reliable PAT-tested laptops ready for pupils all at a fraction of the cost of buying new. Old devices are recycled and re-used again, donors can re-access their old data and memories once again in an easy way.

Parent Communications
Supplying content for texts, emails, web pages etc to help inform your community of the scheme. We answer any technical queries directly.

Hassle Free Collections
Donations are collected directly from schools or businesses, we only leave a small, named padded envelope to return the donor's Hard Drives.

FULL Data Security
Devices are not given any power until a new hard drive has been installed. We also include simple self-removal instructions as an alternative option.

ChromeBooks Ready To Go
We then check, clean & service the device, install a new SSD Hard Drive and then the ChromeBook Teacher or Student OS Edition as required.

We make it simple for schools to get involved:
- Ready-made communications (letters, emails, flyers) provided for your parent community and local supporters.
- We handle donor queries so staff don’t get bogged down with tech questions.
- Secure handling of data — old drives are returned to the donor, who can access their data or request a caddy for just £5.
- PAT TESTED & SERVICED - All devices are professionally PAT Tested, fully cleaned and serviced before being returned
This means schools can boost device numbers without extra admin or budget strain.
Why Schools Love the Scheme
Schools choose Computers-For-All because:
- It’s hands-off: we manage the comms, logistics, and refurbishment.
- It’s quick & seamless: minimal staff involvement, maximum benefit.
- It’s affordable: just £49.99 per Chromebook, and the first device is completely free.
- Like New Devices: After we carefully clean and service each laptop, upgrade if possible and install new hard drives, with a PAT Test ,these devices can often be mistaken as brand new devices
Instead of paying £500 for just a single new laptop, schools can now access 10 fully equipped Chromebooks for the very same spend, unlocking fair and equal access to technology for every child in the classroom.
Highlights of the Scheme
Every refurbished device includes:
- Chrome Education OS — schools can choose a Teacher or Student setup.
- 256 GB SSD upgrade — faster, more reliable storage than old hard drives.
- Full restoration & safety testing — classroom-ready devices you can trust.
- All-in-one service — from donor communication to final delivery, we take care of everything.
And because devices come from the local community, the impact extends beyond your classrooms — reducing e-waste, supporting eco goals, and building stronger links with parents and businesses.
